Our surveys & maintenance treatment process
Step 1 Contact
Here at ICE Thermal, we go the extra mile to make sure every client is happy.
You'll receive a handover pack for your Trace Heating Testing & Maintenance service, including a written report with test results for each circuit, faults found, controller settings and recommendations. Keep it with your building records, as it's useful for audits, insurers and future work.
Our dedicated customer service team will get in touch with every client after the Trace Heating Testing & Maintenance service, to make sure all expectations have been met. We'll remind you when your next test is due, so your system is always ready for winter.
You'll also be given the opportunity to write a Trustpilot review.
Step 2 Quote
Following all health and safety rules, our engineer will visit your site and carry out a full survey. For your Surveys & Maintenance service, we'll agree the scope, the areas to survey and the times when systems will be running. We'll also note access needs for plant rooms, risers and ceiling voids.
We'll also carry out a risk assessment, so nothing unexpected comes up once work starts. This covers access, working at height, other trades on site and any hazards we find.
Our team will then recommend the best option for your site and answer any questions. You'll receive a free, detailed quote for your Surveys & Maintenance service, showing the survey type, scope, report contents and a fixed price, along with a likely timeframe for the work.
Step 3 Cleaning
Our fully trained engineers will arrive on time, in uniform and with ID badges, ready to begin the work. Before we start, we'll send you our risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and agree working areas, times and access with you.
Our engineers will walk each area in scope, record findings and take photos. Where useful, thermal imaging shows hidden heat loss. If you choose us for repairs, the work is planned from the survey findings.
The work will be completed in line with the survey and quote, following all health and safety rules. We keep a safe working area for everyone on site at all times, and can work early, late or at weekends to limit disruption.
When we finish, our team will check the completed work with you and make sure you're happy with the job. We promise to leave your site safe, clean and tidy, with all waste removed.

Thermal Imaging Surveys Thermal cameras show where heat is escaping from pipes, valves, tanks and ducts. They find hidden gaps and failing insulation that you can't see with the naked eye.
Condition & Heat Loss Surveys A full inspection of your insulation, with every problem logged and photographed. We calculate the energy, cost and carbon being lost, and give you a costed plan to fix it.
Insulation Repair & Reinstatement We repair damaged insulation and put it back after maintenance, leaks and inspections. Repairs are matched to your existing materials and finishes.
Pipe Labelling Clear labels showing what each pipe carries and which way it flows, to BS 1710. Engineers can find and isolate the right service first time.
